Is legal transcription for me?
Transcribing involves more than just typing fast and/or accurately. Certainly, that is a big part of the job, but just as important is having a “good ear”, hearing accurately, even when more than one person is speaking, and being able to follow style-guides with accuracy, is key to producing a quality transcript. Set up your legal transcription audio player

Test and improve your typing speed

Candidates Must:
- Reside in the UK or ROI (depending on entity engaging with)
- Be legally entitled to work in the UK or ROI (depending on entity engaging with)
- Have a current UK/ROI bank account to receive payment (depending on entity engaging with)
- Have a dedicated Windows computer equipped with Microsoft Word 2010 or higher and be confident in its use
- Have a stable Internet connection
- Have an excellent understanding of the English language, grammar, punctuation, etc
- Be confident in the use of technology and creating documents to the highest standard
- Be confident in using the Internet to research case information/references
- Be committed to producing high quality transcription and ensuring the final transcript is complete and accurate
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Be a good communicator to ensure the best possible service
- Be looking for work on a freelance (self-employed) basis only (ie, the volume of work offered can vary)
